Mr. Minkler joined the firm in 2009 and is an associate in the firm. His practice focuses on land use and environmental law. Mr. Minkler handles all phases of the land use entitlement and permitting processes, including administrative approvals and litigation. Mr. Minkler’s practice covers the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the State Planning and Zoning Law, the Subdivision Map Act, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the federal Endangered Species Act, and the federal Clean Water Act.

Mr. Minkler received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations, magna cum laude, and a Master of Arts degree in International Environmental Policy from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. He received his J.D. from U.C. Davis, King Hall School of Law in 2009. While at King Hall, Mr. Minkler received “Best Oralist” and “Best Brief” awards while representing U.C. Davis at the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition.

During law school, Mr. Minkler worked as a teaching assistant for the UC Davis Environmental Science and Policy Department and as a Research Assistant for Professor Al Lin. Mr. Minkler also worked as an extern with the California Attorney General’s Natural Resources Division and as a summer law clerk at Legal Services of Northern California. Mr. Minkler worked as a law clerk for Remy, Thomas, Moose & Manley, LLP during the summer of 2008 before joining the firm as an associate in 2009.

Mr. Minkler is an active volunteer for the Center for Youth Citizenship, serving as a judge for the Center’s moot court competition.

Prior to law school, Mr. Minkler worked as a consultant to two different international development organizations, worked various jobs in the construction field, and served four years in the United States Coast Guard.
