Ms. Lee became an associate at the firm in 2009. Her practice focuses on land use and environmental law. Ms. Lee handles all phases of the land use entitlement and permitting processes, including administrative approvals and litigation. Her practice covers the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the State Planning and Zoning Law, the Subdivision Map Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Ms. Lee is the author of Tying Up Loose Ends: Resolving Ambiguity in Ballot Measure 37’s Public Health and Safety Exemption (2008) 38 Envtl. Law 209. She is also a contributing author to the Cal Planner, a monthly publication of the California Chapter of the American Planning Association.
Ms. Lee graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 2000 with a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Conservation and Resource Studies. She also obtained her Master’s in City Planning from U.C. Berkeley in 2002. She obtained her J.D. and a certificate in environmental law from Lewis and Clark Law School in 2008. In law school she was the Form and Style Editor for Environmental Law, a member of the Minority Law Student Association, and a member of the Northwest Environmental Defense Center. Ms. Lee also competed in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court competition. Upon graduation from law school, she was selected to be a member of the Cornelius Honor Society of Lewis and Clark Law School.
Prior to joining the legal field, Ms. Lee worked as an environmental planner for CDM, Inc. and North State Resources, Inc., both in Sacramento. Her work as an environmental planner primarily focused on water resource projects, including the Solano County Water Agency Integrated Water Resources Management Plan, the North Fork Feather River FERC Relicensing EIS/EIR, and the US MCAS Camp Pendleton Conjunctive Use Project EIS/EIR. She also authored a policy paper for the Latino Issues Forum focusing on the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s wastewater infrastructure planning process.
Ms. Lee is a board member of the Sacramento Valley section of the California American Planning Association. She is a member of the Young Planners Group of the Sacramento Valley section of the California American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners. She is also a member of the Asian Bar Association of Sacramento.
